Virat Kohli is missing from the Test series being played between India and England. First he remained out of two matches of this 5-match Test series and later became unavailable for the last three matches also. Virat Kohli has been the target of cricket fans for the last few days due to his absence from such an important series. This decision of Virat has been criticized on social media. Now former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has also taken a dig at Virat Kohli in this matter.
Sunil Gavaskar was talking to IIM students at a Star Sports event in Ranchi. During this time he was asked whether Virat will play IPL or not? So Gavaskar said, ‘Will he play?’ Not playing for some reasons. Maybe he may not even play IPL.
It is noteworthy that Virat Kohli has recently become a father for the second time. Due to Anushka’s pregnancy, she first withdrew from the first two Test matches against England and later withdrew her name from the last three matches as well. After the injury of KL Rahul, there were speculations that Virat could be seen in the last matches but still he was not available for the Test squad.
However, even in the absence of Virat, Team India won the Test series against England. In the fourth match of the 5-match Test series itself, the Indian team has taken an unassailable lead of 3-1. Team India has won the series in the absence of Virat and other big players. Young Indian players performed amazingly in this series. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel and Akash Deep won a lot of applause with their performances.
IPL is starting from 22nd March
Team India is going to have a long break after the Test series against England. The Test series is to end on March 11 and the IPL is going to start from March 22, which is to continue till the end of May. Team India will now directly participate in the T20 World Cup after the IPL, which will start in June.
