Sakshi, daughter of former BJP MLA Rajesh Mishra alias Pappu Bharatul in Bareilly, UP, has accused her in-laws of demanding dowry. Sakshi reached the SSP office and submitted an application accusing her in-laws of demanding dowry and harassing her. According to Sakshi, her in-laws also beat her.
Let us tell you that Sakshi Mishra had a love marriage with a young man named Ajitesh a few years ago. Sakshi’s family was against this marriage. There was a lot of uproar regarding this. But Sakshi had clearly refused to leave Ajitesh’s side. This matter was covered a lot in the media.
But now Sakshi Mishra along with her husband Ajitesh has gone to the police and lodged a complaint against her in-laws. Sakshi is currently living in Veer Savarkar Nagar of Izzat Nagar police station area. Sakshi has accused her father-in-law, step-mother-in-law, sister-in-law, sister-in-law and grandmother of harassing her for dowry. According to Sakshi – Since I had a love marriage, my in-laws beat me due to non-payment of dowry.

Sakshi says that she lives upstairs in her in-laws’ house. Where, her daughter and husband also live together. Mother-in-law, father-in-law and other people live in the lower part. According to Sakshi, she is harassed every day in her in-laws house by saying that despite being the daughter of an MLA, she did not get a good dowry. Even if he had married his son to an ordinary family, he would have got a good donation and dowry. Due to this anger, father-in-law cuts the water connection and electricity every day. Every day they cause trouble by doing something or the other.
The attack took place in the High Court
Sakshi Mishra told that in 2019 we got married as per Hindu customs. Our case was filed in Allahabad High Court. We also feared that there might be a fatal attack on us. The court had also given us protection for this.
Threats are received even today
Sakshi further said that we are given death threats. Because, I had married Ajitesh of my own free will. My father was a sitting MLA at that time. But even today the fear remained. Caste related words are used regarding the husband. When I was pregnant, I was harassed even more.
However, later Ajitesh’s father accepted us. But later on they also started troubling me. That too just for dowry. Every day the in-laws keep saying something or the other about dowry. They say talk to your mother, go and get something, she has come empty handed.
According to Sakshi – Not only this, when we asked for a car, the in-laws used to say that your father is an MLA, he has many cars, take one or two from him. They harass you mentally by taunting in this way. I have also been beaten up. I was beaten up when I was in my eighth month of pregnancy.
At present, the SSP has ordered the Izzat Nagar Police to investigate the matter. Izzat Nagar police station is engaged in investigation. Sakshi is demanding registration of FIR against her in-laws.
