Before the Cape Town Test, Team India’s fast bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakar got injured. While practicing batting in the net on Saturday, the ball hit his left shoulder. After this Shardul was seen applying ice. He could not even come to the nets for bowling practice.
How serious this injury is will be known only after the scan. At present, it is not known whether he needs a scan or not. However, it is certain that this injury does not appear to be that light. This is because after this injury he was seen groaning in pain. For a long time he seemed uneasy about it.
Injured while practicing batting on throwdown
Shardul was practicing batting on throwdown in the net. A member of Team India’s support staff was giving him batting practice. Meanwhile, a length ball took a good bounce and hit his left shoulder sharply. After this Shardul was seen in a lot of pain. As soon as he finished batting practice, the physio placed an ice pack on his shoulder.
Centurion Test was nothing special for Shardul
Shardul’s performance in the Centurion Test was not effective. In bowling he got only one wicket and in batting he was able to score only 24 runs in the first innings and only 2 runs in the second innings. There is doubt over his inclusion in the playing-11 in the Cape Town Test.
