Samson, who usually plays big shots, displayed immense composure in the beginning and took the pace of the runs forward by taking one and two runs. Once settled on the crease, he played in T20 style and hit fast bowler Nandre Bargar for a six over midwicket. After this, left arm spinner Keshav Maharaj was hit for a four.
Samson’s half-century was completed in 66 balls. He reached this figure by taking a run to Buran Hendricks at third man. At the other end, Verma hit his first four on the 39th ball. Even after his departure, Samson did not lose his rhythm. He completed his century by taking one run to Maharaj at long off.
