Last year also two people died due to suffocation
Let us tell you that earlier last year, on the occasion of Janmashtami, two devotees had died due to suffocation due to huge crowd in the famous Banke Bihari temple complex of Mathura, while 6 people were injured. This accident happened during Mangala Aarti. Police said that there was a jam at the exit gate due to huge crowd, while the crowd was continuously coming from the entry gates also. The sudden increase in crowd caused suffocation and restlessness and people fainted.
However, people associated with the temple administration had made serious allegations, saying that some officers had brought their family members to Mangala Aarti. These family members were having darshan from the balcony. The authorities had closed the gates of the upper floors for the safety of their families, which made it difficult to rescue people.
