Kushinagar. An encounter took place between Scorpio riding miscreants and a joint team of police in the early hours of Thursday on NH near Maghi Mathiya Canal Bridge of Ramkola, Kushinagar. In this, three miscreants of the interstate Pankhiya gang were shot in their legs, while one was caught after running away. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital. All the arrested criminals have criminal history and are wanted in connection with robbery and theft. Four pistols, cartridges and stolen gold and silver jewelery have been recovered from them. SP Dhawal Jaiswal reached the spot, took information and gave necessary instructions.

The joint team received information that the miscreants were coming to Padrauna from Ramkola. On this, the team started checking the vehicles on Ramkola Padrauna road near Maghi Mathia Canal bridge at 4 am. Meanwhile, when the team signaled the Scorpio to stop, the driver started driving away at high speed. When the team laid siege, the Scorpio was stopped on the NH bank and the four youths in it started firing at the police and started running towards the canal.
Miscreants injured in police retaliation
In police retaliation, three were injured by bullets in their legs. The injured were identified as Muqaddar Ali, Jafar Ali and Zahid Ali of Gadhiya Prophet police station Hazratpur district Badaun. The team chased and nabbed Samidul Ali Munta Nagla police station Sikandarpur Vaishya district Kasganj. Four pistols, four cartridges, gold and silver jewellery, chisel, hammer etc. have been recovered from them.
The miscreants have a criminal record
Police also found four shell casings from the spot. The SP reached the district hospital and interrogated the miscreants. The Superintendent of Police said that the arrested miscreants have a criminal history. Cases are registered against them in Padrauna Kotwali, Ravindra Nagar Dhus, Turkpatti police stations. SWAT, Surveillance, Cyber Cell along with Ramkola and Padrauna police station in-charges were included in the team.
