Agra. The car of a couple going from Noida to Dhaulpur to celebrate Rakshabandhan came under the grip of a container on the Agra-Gwalior highway on Thursday. The container driver dragged the stuck car ahead for two kilometres. The couple kept screaming for help. On the way, the villagers tried their best to stop the container. The driver kept running the container ignoring everything.
In the end, the police stopped the truck by putting a barrier. Husband-wife have suffered injuries in the incident, while two children are safe. The incident took place on Thursday at 3 pm. Amar Jain, a resident of Sector 50 Noida, is an engineer. He along with his wife Yogita, 13-year-old daughter Anshika and seven-year-old son Ansh were going to Dholpur to get Rakhi tied to their sister.
The container hit the side of the car near Sikandarpur village in Saiya area, due to which the car went out of control and came in front of the container and got stuck in the engine part. Instead of stopping the container, the driver dragged the car. Amar Jain somehow managed to drive the car.
Amar said, there was a possibility of the car being run over by the container when the brakes were applied. When the container did not stop even after the villagers made noise, they called the police. Police blocked the highway. Seeing the way ahead closed, the driver stopped the container. Amar had injuries on his hands and his wife had injuries on her head.
Both the children did not even get scratched, they are safe. The tire of the car burst in the accident, a part of it was damaged. In-charge Inspector Samaresh Singh said, no tahrir has been given by Amar Jain. Action is being taken against the container driver.
