The actress wrote, ‘A few months ago, Pakistani journalist Umair Sandhu made false claims about me, in which it was said about my relationship with my mentor Firoz Khan and his son Fardeen Khan. Apart from this, he also made several claims targeting my and my family’s security in Austria. My reaction to his fake claims from Pakistan went viral and got support from millions of Twitter users including Pakistanis who were shocked by this.
‘Umair has changed his location online and is hiding in Pakistan. So that it was not possible for me to take legal action and he was questioning my character and modesty. I decided to take up the matter with the National Commission for Women in India. Taking cognizance of this complaint, the Commission sent a letter to the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs. The Ministry has taken this incident seriously and has demanded further investigation and action.
