Police arrested a crook carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 after an encounter in the forests of Latifpur in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district on Saturday morning. A police officer said that the miscreant was shot in the encounter, while a constable was also injured. Saharanpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vipin Tada told a news agency that on the information of an informer, Nakud police station in-charge Rajendra Prasad Vashisht and Sarsawa police station in-charge Sube Singh tried to nab two miscreants while laying siege in the forests of Latifpur on Saturday morning. But the miscreants started firing on the police team.
A constable was also shot in the encounter
According to TADA, the police team also retaliated in which one miscreant was injured. He told that a soldier also received bullet injuries in the encounter. According to TADA, the arrested criminal has been identified as Deepak, a resident of Salapur under Nakud police station area, carrying a prize of Rs 25,000. He told that Deepak’s partner Anki, a resident of Saharanpur, absconded. According to TADA, police constable Vipin was also injured in the firing by the miscreants. He told that the miscreant Deepak and constable Vipin have been admitted to the district hospital. According to TADA, during the search after the encounter, the police recovered a bike, a pistol, two kiosks and Rs 5000 in cash. He said that during interrogation, Deepak told that on July 11, he and his accomplice Shubham had robbed an employee of a gas agency in Nakud area at gunpoint in broad daylight.
