Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given strict instructions to the officials to take all necessary measures on priority to prevent heat and heat stroke in view of the increasing outbreak of severe heat and the deaths of people in Ballia due to it. In a high-level meeting on Monday, Yogi said that good arrangements should be made for the treatment of heat stroke patients in government hospitals and medical colleges. Arrangements should be made for immediate treatment of patients suffering from heat stroke.
Weather forecast bulletin should be released daily: CM Yogi
The Chief Minister also directed that daily weather forecast bulletin should be issued from the Relief Commissioner’s office. Adequate arrangement of drinking water should be ensured in urban and rural areas. Pew should be arranged at public places. Arrangements for drinking water should be made at various places in the markets and on the main roads. Drinking water should be supplied in cities as per the fixed roster and rural piped drinking water schemes should be run smoothly. He said that water and shade should be arranged at public places for cattle and dogs etc. and people should be made aware to keep water and grains in small vessels for birds. Adequate arrangements for fodder and water should be made for the bovine animals in the gaushalas.
‘Power should not be cut unnecessarily’
CM Yogi again gave a strict warning to the UP Power Corporation Limited that there should be no unnecessary power cuts. Immediate redressal of problems like blowing of transformer and breakage of electric wire should be ensured. He said that all necessary measures should be taken strictly to save people from heat stroke, strict action will be taken if negligence is done.
Awareness campaign started to save people from heat stroke
Following the instructions given by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to create awareness among the people to prevent heatstroke, the Relief Commissioner’s office has started a public awareness campaign for this. To make people aware through social media and public awareness at various places are also being started under this.
If you want to avoid heatstroke, then take special care of these things.
- Do not go out unnecessarily in the hot sun, especially from 12 noon to 3 pm.
- Drink plenty of water to avoid heatstroke, keep drinking water even if you are not thirsty.
- Wear light colored loose-fitting cotton clothes.
- To protect yourself from the sun, wear a hat, umbrella and sunglasses.
- Wear shoes and slippers.
- Carry water with you while traveling.
- Do not use beverages like alcohol, tea and coffee. This can be harmful to the body.
- If you go out of the house for some work, keep a wet cloth along with cap, towel and umbrella and keep it on your face, head and neck again and again.
- Consume homemade beverages like lassi, salt-sugar solution, mango panna and lemon water.
- If there are cattle or dogs in the house, then keep them in the shade and give them plenty of water to drink.
- Use curtains, shutters etc. to keep your house cool and keep the windows of the room open at night.
