Pilibhit: With the help of other family members, a young man poured diesel on his father and set him on fire. Due to which he got seriously injured. Passengers informed about this in Sadar Kotwali. Then the police reached the spot and took the burnt person to the district hospital.
Father beaten and then burnt for protesting against taking illegal electricity connection
According to Ejaz Nabi, a resident of Chhota Khudaganj locality of Sadar Kotwali area, he maintains the family by doing wages. The elder son works as a scrap dealer. He has been fighting with her for a long time. On June 3, his house was raided by the Electricity Department team and the electricity connection was disconnected due to outstanding bills. On Sunday morning, the son himself started connecting the electric wire illegally. When Ejaz protested, he broke the handpump and other things at the house. After that started fighting. Later he went to sell his junk. After this he left the house to find his middle son Fariyad. On the way, the elder son, his wife and daughter-in-law came riding on a bike near Benhar intersection on Tanakpur road. Stopping them on the road, sprinkled diesel and set them on fire. Due to which he got seriously burnt. On their noise, the passers-by somehow extinguished the fire. Some of those passers-by informed Sadar Kotwali about the incident. After this the police reached the spot. He was admitted to the district hospital in critical condition.
The victim has already complained to the police
The victim told the police that his family members have remained the enemies of his life. On Sunday, the son’s brother-in-law called and threatened to kill him. After that the son sprinkled diesel and set it on fire. The victim said that he had complained about his son’s act to the police several times in the past as well.
Sadar Kotwal Naresh Tyagi told that the police had gone to the spot after getting information about the incident. They have not yet received any complaint from the victim. On receipt of Tahrir, action will be taken against the accused by writing an FIR accordingly.
