Hamirpur: The miscreant opened fire on the police team that went to raid. Surendra Prasad Yadav, in-charge of Patara outpost of Thana Kurara, got shot in his left hand. When his condition became critical, he was referred to Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Hospital in Kanpur. The incident took place in Patara village on Sunday night.
None of the three constables present with the outpost in-charge could muster the courage to catch hold of the accused and he ran away waving his pistol. Shambhu, a resident of Patara village of Kurara police station area, is a scoundrel. Recently, his video with the pistol became popular.
Surendra Prasad Yadav, in-charge of Patara outpost, along with three constables arrived on Sunday night to arrest Shambhu Kushwaha of village Patara. Shambhu got a clue of this and he started roaming in the village with a pistol. At around eight o’clock in the night, when the police reached Patara village to arrest him, Shambhu, hiding in the bushes, fired directly at the outpost in-charge. The bullet hit his left hand. As long as the constables were careful, the accused Shambhu escaped from there.
Station in-charge Pawan Kumar Patel said that police teams have been formed to search for the accused.
