Balrampur: A constable posted in the Balrampur police line allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a government rifle. A police officer gave this information on Sunday. Superintendent of Police (SP) Keshav Kumar said on Sunday that Vivek Verma (23) was a 2020 batch constable from Lakhimpur Kheri and was posted in the police line.

The SP said that Vivek lived in a rented house in Chhota Dhusah locality of Dehat police station area and was on duty in the municipal elections. When he did not turn up for duty on Saturday, police personnel were sent to his residence. The door of the room did not open on being called by the police personnel, so the constables broke open the door on suspicion and when they entered inside the room, they found Vivek’s blood-soaked body there. He said that the Government S.O. Ale. R. A rifle was found with which he had allegedly shot himself.
Police arrived after information, recovered suicide note from the spot
Let us tell you that the police have also recovered a suicide note from the spot, in which he has cited family dispute as the reason for the suicide. Keshav Kumar told that the body has been sent for postmortem and the relatives of the constable have been called after informing them. The matter is being investigated by the forensic team, further legal action is being taken.
