The results of the Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation elections will be declared today. The counting of votes will start from 8 am. Voting has been done in two phases for 760 municipal bodies in 75 districts of the state. Of these, there are 17 Municipal Corporations, 199 Municipalities and 544 Nagar Panchayats. Voting took place in 37 districts of the state in the first phase and in 38 districts in the second phase. Now it is the turn of the results.
This time voting was held in two phases for the civic elections. The first phase of voting was held in 37 districts on 4 May and the second phase of voting was held in 38 districts on 11 May. In both the phases, 52 per cent voters exercised their vote. Now today the counting of votes will start across the state and it will be known that on whose head the crown of victory will adorn. In the last election, 14 out of 16 mayors were elected from BJP. BSP had won on two. SP and Congress did not get even a single seat.
Counting of votes will be done at 353 counting centers
353 counting centers have been set up in all the districts across the state. 35 thousand employees will count the votes on these. Security has been strengthened in all the districts. Police and PAC personnel have been deployed. The counting centers are being monitored by CCTV and CCTV cameras with recording are installed in the strong room.
