Bijpur: The bride sat in the mandap all night waiting for the groom in Bijpur market on Saturday night. Neither the wedding party reached nor the bridegroom. On Sunday morning after getting tired, the bride called the women’s helpline number and pleaded for help. On Saturday night, the marriage procession of the daughter of a resident of Bijpur Bazar was to come from Gorakhpur to Agrawal Dharamshala located in the market.
Complete preparations had been made to welcome the procession. The tent was put up, the mandap was decorated, the stage was ready for Jaymala. DJ was playing, food and drink started. The family relatives had reached, everything was normal till evening. Time passed by slowly, but the whereabouts of the procession were not known.
When the baraat did not come till late, the girl’s father called on the groom’s phone. The groom told that it will take some time to reach. Will reach by 9 o’clock in the night, but the wedding procession did not reach even till 10 o’clock, then called again, then it was said to come till 12 o’clock, but the wedding procession with the groom did not reach the whole night.
In-charge Inspector Pankaj Kumar Singh reached Agarwal Dharamshala with Dalbal. When the full details of the matter were taken, shocking facts came to the fore. Police said that the bride’s step mother Pooja got in touch with the young man from Gorakhpur on the internet media Instagram.
The bride’s mother took a liking to Yuvraj and the conversation started through Instagram. Meanwhile, the bride’s mother put the matter of her step-daughter’s marriage in front of the young man. The young man accepted. Everything went on through the phone, the date of marriage was kept on the phone itself. In this regard Inspector-in-charge Pankaj Singh said that no Tahrir has been given in the police station from the side of the bride or her mother, but has accepted the mistake of fixing the date of marriage without investigating the groom himself.
