New Delhi. The Indian team won the Mirpur Test against Bangladesh by 3 wickets. Bangladesh had put India in a difficult situation at one stage while performing brilliantly, but R Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer became India’s anchors. After 90 years, Ashwin and Shreyas repeated history and shared an unbeaten partnership for the eighth wicket during the fourth day’s play. The Indian team made a clean sweep in the two-Test series. With this victory, India is in second place in the points table of the World Test Championship.

After 90 years, on the fourth day, India shared a partnership of 70 or more runs for the eighth wicket. Earlier in 1932, Amar Singh and Lal Singh shared a 74-run partnership.

It may be noted that Lal Singh and Amar Singh added 74 runs for the 8th wicket in the match against England. This Test match between India and England was played in the year 1932 at the historic ground of Lord’s. In this match, Ashwin scored 42 off 62 balls while Iyer played an unbeaten inning of 29 off 46 balls. Both made this partnership when 7 wickets had fallen on the score of 74 runs. Akshar Patel scored 34 runs. Jaydev Unadkat played an inning of 13 runs.
India clean sweep for the fourth time
Bangladesh bowler Mehdi Hasan took 5 wickets. Captain Shakib Al Hasan got two successes. Bangladesh had set a target of 145 runs in front of India while scoring 271 runs in the second innings. Earlier, India scored 314 in the first innings and Bangladesh scored 227 runs. India won the first test match by 188 runs. Along with winning the second test match, did a clean sweep over Bangladesh. India has done a clean sweep on the soil of Bangladesh for the fourth time.
