Mathura. A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Mathura district of UP. On Friday night in Avairni village, the husband killed his wife by striking her on the neck and chest with an axe. Son’s fingers also got hurt. The woman who died had returned from Hathras in the evening itself. The police took the accused husband into custody. There was a domestic dispute between the couple behind the incident.
There was a difference of opinion between husband and wife
There were long differences between Janglia and his wife Nihaldevi (45), a resident of Avairni village under Thana Baldev area. There used to be fights and quarrels between the two. That’s why Nihaldevi used to work as a laborer while staying in Hathras with her elder son Raju. Both mother and son lived in Hathras for almost 15 years. After a dispute with Raju’s wife, Nihal Devi came to her house at around 4 pm on Friday. The return of his wife was exasperating to Jangliya.
Husband opposes coming to wife’s house
The husband also opposed the wife’s stay in the house. There was an argument between the two regarding this matter. At around 10.30 pm, Nihal Devi was sleeping on the cot with her younger son Akash.
Station in-charge Sanjay Tyagi said, Janglia hit Nihal Devi four-five times on the neck and head with an ax and killed her. Akash’s fingers also got hurt due to the axe. The accused husband was arrested after the incident. The ax has been recovered.
