Noida. A fire broke out in the junk kept behind the plastic shop in Gejha village located in Phase II Kotwali area around 6.30 pm on Sunday. After seeing smoke and flames, people informed Kotwali police and fire department.
After getting the information, five vehicles of the fire brigade reached the spot and the fire was brought under control after about an hour’s effort. There has been no loss of life or loss of animals in this. Goods worth lakhs of rupees have been burnt to ashes.
Cause of fire not known
FSO Pradeep Kumar Choubey told that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. It is suspected that the fire broke out due to short circuit. He said that the fire was reported from Kallar around 6.30 pm. Due to the location of the shop in Sector-93 market, the nearby shops were also evacuated from the point of view of security.
Smoke was visible from several kilometers
Due to the fire in the junk kept in the godown of the shop, there was chaos around and people kept making videos of the incident. During this, teams of Kotwali police were also present on the spot. Even after extinguishing the fire, a vehicle of the fire brigade remained present on the spot. The flames and smoke were visible from several kilometers away. During this, the nearby shops were also evacuated.
