Moradabad. In the 14-year-old case of Moradabad’s Chhajlait, the main accused, including SP leader Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam, were to present evidence in the court on Thursday in defense. But, due to the demise of the advocate, a mourning was declared in the court. Due to which the advocates did not work and the hearing could not take place. Now the date of November 7 has been given for hearing in this matter.
Azam Khan’s Gandi was stopped for checking
On January 29, 2008, in Chhajlat police station area, there was a dispute with the police regarding the removal of black foil in the car of SP leader Azam Khan. Azam Khan sat on the road in protest against the action. As soon as the matter came to light, SP leaders from nearby districts also reached in support.
Nine leaders including Azam’s son Abdullah are accused
In this case, an FIR was registered against nine SP leaders including Azam Khan, his son Abdullah Azam. Azam Khan’s advocate Shahnawaz told that on Thursday, SP leader Azam Khan and other accused were to present evidence in their defense in MP MLA Court.
Court mourns the death of advocate
Due to the death of the advocate, mourning was declared, due to which the hearing could not take place. Special Public Prosecutor Mohan Lal Vishnoi said that an adjournment application has been given on behalf of accused SP leader Azam Khan and Abdullah Azam, Mehboob Ali.
Court accepted adjournment motion
Other accused in this case, former MLA Haji Ikram Qureshi, Nurpur SP MLA Naeem Ul Hasan, former Metropolitan President Rajkumar Prajapati, Rajesh Yadav, DP Yadav had appeared in the court. The court, while accepting the adjournment application, has given the date of November 7 for the next hearing.
