Banda: The speeding private bus carrying passengers on the damaged and potholed road overturned uncontrollably and overturned in the water-filled khanti on the roadside. The driver and the operator fled from the spot after the accident. There was shouting of the injured at the spot. The injured alleged that the incident took place due to the intoxication of the driver. With the help of villagers, the injured were pulled out of the vehicle by breaking the glass. The police sent 13 seriously injured including the injured woman and her recent girl child to CHC Atarra. 12 minor injured have themselves gone to the hospital and got their treatment.
50 people were on the bus
A private bus was going from the town to Oran at around 6.45 pm on Saturday evening. About 50 people were on the bus at the time of the accident. As soon as the bus reached near the village Nagwara. The drunk driver lost control and the bus overturned in Khanti on the roadside. Hearing the screams, the villagers ran to help the injured trapped in the bus. After the accident, hundreds of people gathered at the spot.
Investigation is being done to know the cause of the accident
CO Anand Pandey and Atarra police station in-charge Anoop Dubey also helped the injured in getting the bus out. Apart from four ambulances called on the spot, the police have sent the injured to the hospital in their own and private vehicles. In which an unconscious woman was taken to the hospital by the Inspector of Police in his jeep. Efforts are being made to get the bus out of the crane of Bundelkhand Expressway Atarra on the instructions of the CO. Inspector-in-Charge said that efforts are on to trace the driver of the bus. Documents found complete, Atarra-Oran route has a permit
All the documents of the overturned bus on the route from Atarra to Oran are complete. The vehicle owner has taken a permit to ply on this route. Which is valid till the month of November. According to the passenger tax officer Ramsumer Yadav, all the documents including fitness, insurance and pollution of the bus are complete. Said that the reason for the bus overturning is being ascertained. If the investigation reveals that the driver is drunk, then action will be taken as per rules.
