Lucknow. About 16 lakh state employees, teachers and non-teaching employees of the state will get Dearness Allowance (DA) at an increased rate of four percent from July 1. Employees will be paid DA at the rate of 38 per cent of basic pay from July 1. Till now they were being given DA at the rate of 34 per cent.
DA will be paid in cash with October salary
- From July 1 to September 30, the amount of increased DA will be deposited in the Provident Fund Account (GPF) of the employees. The employees will be paid DA in cash along with the salary of October.
- After getting the approval of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the proposal to increase DA, the Finance Department has issued a mandate in this regard on Tuesday.
- The benefit of increased DA will be available to all regular and full-time employees of state government, aided educational and technical educational institutions and urban local bodies, work-charged employees and post holders working in the University Grants Commission pay scales.
- According to the mandate, the amount of arrears will be deposited in the GPF account of the employees till October 1, 2023 and it cannot be withdrawn before this date except in cases of final withdrawal.
- The employees coming under the purview of National Pension Scheme will get 10 percent of the increased DA arrears from July 1 to September 30, to be deposited in their Tier-1 pension account and 90 percent of the amount will be given to them in the form of National Savings Certificates.
They will also get cash payment of full amount of DA dues
The arrears of DA to the officers or employees whose services have ended before the date of issue of this mandate or who have retired from 1st July 2022 to the date of issue of the mandate or are due to retire within six months. The entire amount will be paid in cash.
