Moradabad. The Moradabad police of UP, who went to catch the mining mafia Muhammad Zafar, was attacked by a mob in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. Police firing was done. In response, the police also opened fire. Five soldiers were injured in the firing from both the sides.
Two soldiers were shot in the thigh, three were thrashed and injured
A woman from the mob was killed in the firing. Of the five injured police constables, two have been shot in the thigh. While three were thrashed by the mob and injured. The mob held the police and the SOG team hostage. Somehow the policemen escaped from the spot after saving their lives.
Mining mafia has attacked even a month ago
Earlier, on September 13, three dumper mining mafia had been taken hostage by taking SDM Parmanand and mining officer Ashok Kumar in Thakurdwara. In this case, the police had registered an FIR against 150 unidentified persons, naming five accused. So far, a reward of Rs 50,000 each was announced on 20 accused.
Mining mafia caught by police, escaped by dodging
They have been arrested and sent to jail. While Muhammad Zafar, a partner of the mining syndicate’s kingpin Muhammad Tayyab, was absconding. According to the police, Zafar was caught near Thakurdwara border of Moradabad-Uttarakhand on Wednesday evening but, he escaped after dodging the police.
Mining mafia surrounded the village after chasing six kilometers
Thakurdwara police station as well as the team of SOG in-charge Ravindra Yadav chased him. After covering a distance of about six kilometres, the police raided Bharatpur village under Kunda police station area of Kashipur. It is alleged that the police and SOG were taken hostage here.
The people of the village opened fire on the police
During the firing from both the sides, Gurpreet Kaur, wife of Jaspur’s eldest block chief Gurtaj Bhullar, sustained bullet injuries. During the firing, SOG constables Shiv Kumar and Rahul Singh were shot in the thigh and leg. The attackers snatched the weapons present with the SOG team and opened fire on them. After that they ran away with weapons.
Injured soldiers were admitted to Moradabad
Sepoys Sangam Kasana, Sumit Rathi and Anil Kumar were injured in the attack. The injured soldiers were somehow rescued by the Thakurdwara police and admitted to Cosmos Hospital, Moradabad. As soon as the incident was reported, SP City Akhilesh Bhadauria reached the district hospital to see the injured.

The condition of one constable Shiv Kumar is critical, while other constables are being treated. As soon as the information about the incident was received, SSP Hemant Kutiyal along with DIG Shalabh Mathur left for the spot. The SSP said that two of our soldiers have been shot. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. the matter is being investigated.
