New Delhi. The Indian women’s team leveled 1-1 in the 3-match series on the back of Smriti Mandhana’s scintillating half-century. In the second T20 match played at County Ground Derby, India had a target of 143 runs, which they achieved with 20 balls to spare for the loss of 2 wickets. While batting brilliantly for India, Smriti Mandhana scored an unbeaten 79 runs in 53 balls. Apart from Mandhana, captain Harmanpreet Kaur also played an unbeaten 29 off 22 balls. With this win, India have leveled the series 1-1 in the 3-match series.
England batting first
Earlier, winning the toss and opting to bat first, the England team did not have a good start and lost the top 3 batsmen on the score of 16 runs. Even after this, England’s wickets did not stop falling and half their team was in the pavilion on the score of 54, but Freya Kemp Maia Boucher added 65 runs for the sixth wicket and brought the team to a fighting score of 142 for the loss of 6 wickets.
For England, Freya Kemp scored an unbeaten 51 off 37 balls. Apart from this, Boucher played an innings of 34 runs. Sneh Rana bowled brilliantly for India, taking 3 wickets for 24 runs in the bowling of 4 overs, apart from him Renuka Singh and Deepti Sharma took 1-1 wickets.
The third and final match of the series will be played at County Ground Bristol where both the teams will go to win the series in their favour. England won the first match of the series by 9 wickets.
