New Delhi. Indian team has been selected for Asia Cup. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have returned in this team while Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson did not get a chance. Ishaan has spoken for the first time about not being selected in the team and breaking the silence gave a statement about the selectors. His eyes are on making a place in the team of ICC T20 World Cup and have been trying to achieve this goal.
Talking to ANI, Ishaan said, “I believe that whatever the selectors do, they are right. Whatever players they select, there is a lot of deliberation before that. They take their decision after thinking.” Which player should be given a chance and where he should be selected.
He further said, “This thing is going to bring a positivity for me because if I have not been selected in the team, then I will work even harder now. I will try to score more runs than before. If there is faith in him, he will definitely give me a place in the team.”
The Asia Cup, hosted by Sri Lanka, is going to start in the UAE from August 27. The Indian team has been placed in Group I along with Pakistan and a qualifier team. Whereas Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh have been placed in Group B. The teams that finish first and second in both the groups will advance to Super 4. Where there will be round robin matches, after which the top two teams will reach the final. The final match of the tournament is to be played on 11 September.
