The next hearing on the review petition filed in the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court challenging the decision of the Sessions Court in the disputed structure demolition case of Ayodhya will be held on July 18. In the petition, all the 32 accused including LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Kalyan Singh, Uma Bharti have also been demanded to be convicted.
The petition filed by Haji Mehboob Ahmed and Syed Akhlaq Ahmed, residents of Ayodhya, appeared before a single bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh for hearing on Monday. However, it was requested by the petitioners to hear the matter on some other day. On this, while fixing the date of July 18, the court has also made it clear that the hearing of the case will not be postponed on the next date. Along with this, the petition has also been directed to be listed in the first ten cases only.
It is noteworthy that the Special Court, Ayodhya Case, passing the decision on 30 September 2020, in the disputed structure demolition case, former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, former Union Minister Murli Manohar Joshi, former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, Uma Bharti, Lok Sabha members Sakshi Maharaj, Lallu All the accused including Singh and Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh were acquitted. The present petition states that both the petitioners were not only witnesses in this case but also victims of the incident.
He had also filed an application before the special court seeking to be heard himself, but the special court rejected his application. The petitioners also say that under pressure from the BJP government at the Center, the CBI did not file an appeal against the decision of the sessions court, while several Muslim organizations had requested the CBI to file an appeal.
