Lucknow. President Ram Nath Kovind will address a joint sitting of both the houses of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature on Monday on the occasion of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. A special house of the Legislature is being convened on Monday under the Amrit Festival of Independence.
Apart from President Ram Nath Kovind, this program, which starts at 11 am in the Vidhan Sabha Pavilion, was also addressed by Governor Anandiben Patel, Chairman of the Legislative Council Kunwar Manvendra Singh, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Satish Mahana, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Akhilesh Yadav. will do.
President Ram Nath Kovind is not only a resident of Uttar Pradesh but is also an integral part of the Parliament, the apex body of the legislature in the country. The Uttar Pradesh Legislature also has a glorious past. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a review of the achievements of the past as well as preparing an action plan for the next 25 years, during the Amrit Mahotsav being celebrated in the 75th year of the country’s independence. In his address, the President will guide the members of both the houses.
The President reached Lucknow late Sunday evening. Will stay overnight at Raj Bhavan. On Monday, the President’s Fleet will leave Raj Bhavan for Vidhan Bhavan at around 10.30 am. Governor Anandiben Patel, Legislative Council Chairman Manvendra Singh, Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak as well as the leaders of the Legislature Party of all parties will welcome the President in the portico of the Vidhan Bhavan.
After this, at exactly 11 o’clock, the President will reach the Vidhan Sabha Pavilion. Here he will guide the members of the Legislature in the joint session. There will also be an address by the Governor, Legislative Council Speaker, Speaker of the Assembly and Chief Minister. After staying in the Vidhan Bhavan for an hour, the President will return to the Raj Bhavan. In the honor of the President, lunch has been kept in the Raj Bhavan itself. The President is to return from Lucknow late on Monday evening.
President’s address for the second time before both the houses: This will be the second time when the President will address a joint sitting of both the Houses of the Legislature. Earlier, the then President Pranab Mukherjee had addressed both the Houses on January 8, 2013 at the Uttara Centenary Silver Jubilee Celebrations organized to commemorate 125 years of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature. On this occasion, he had also released a special postage stamp on the UP Legislature.
Legislative Assembly Secretariat remained open: The Legislative Assembly Secretariat remained open even on Sunday for the preparations for the arrival of President Ram Nath Kovind. Vidhan Sabha Speaker Satish Mahana himself took stock of the preparations in the Vidhan Bhawan and the Vidhan Sabha Pavilion. In view of the security of the President, the officers of the police-administration also inspected the Vidhan Bhavan.
