The accused of the ruckus in Kanpur on June 3 have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. However, police remand has not been received yet. The police will appeal to the court to take the remand of the four accused Hayat Jafar Hashmi, Javed Ahmed Khan, Mohammad Rahil and Mohammad Sufiyan. All these accused are associated with Maulana Ali Johar Fans Association. After the court was closed on Sunday, the police produced the four accused in the Metropolitan Magistrate Court. After this, the court sent all the accused to judicial custody for 14 days. A senior police officer said that the court will appeal to the court to take remand of all the accused of Kanpur violence.
On the other hand, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted for a detailed investigation regarding the riots and violence that took place in Parade area of Kanpur on Friday. Kanpur Police Commissioner Vijay Singh Meena said on Sunday that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to destroy the network of the accused and probe their mobiles, besides another team. The formation of these teams will decide the progress of the investigation in this matter.

On Friday, there was a fierce ruckus on the new road in Kanpur’s Beaconganj over the closure of the market after Namaz. So far three FIRs have been registered in connection with this violence. 40 people have been named as accused in the FIR. While 1000 unknown people were also made accused. Police arrested 35 miscreants while imposing undeclared curfew in the new road. Meanwhile, 12 companies of PAC have been deployed to restore normalcy in the area. The police have so far received 40 CCTV footages of the incidents related to the violence. On the basis of these, the houses of the identified accused are being raided continuously. Along with this, action will also be taken against the identified suspects by registering a case under the Gangster Act and confiscation of the property of the rioters by running a bulldozer.
