Lucknow. The sudden inclement weather in Uttar Pradesh has hit the electricity department officials along with the common people. During the budget session of the UP legislature that began on Monday, there was a sudden power outage. It is being told that the Governor’s address was going on at that time. Three officers and one employee of the electricity department had to bear the brunt of this.
Taking serious note of the failure of the lights of the Vidhan Bhavan during the Governor’s address on Monday, the government has suspended Executive Engineer Sanjay Paswan, Sub Divisional Officer Pushpesh Giri and Junior Engineer Amar Raj of Electricity Transmission Division-I of Lucknow, while the Sub-Centre The services of operator (contractual worker) Deepak Sharma have been terminated.
On the first day of the budget session of the Legislature, the lights were briefly switched off during Governor Anandiben Patel’s address in the Vidhan Sabha Pavilion. Despite all the arrangements, Energy Minister AK Sharma reached Shakti Bhawan headquarters late in the evening when there was a power failure during the proceedings of the House. He inquired about the reasons for the power failure in the House along with Principal Secretary Energy and Chairman of UP Power Corporation M. Devraj and senior officials.
Upon investigation of the matter, it was found that in view of the strong storm, the supply was stopped from the transmission subdivision Martinpurwa, which affected the power supply system. Considering this as serious negligence, the management has taken action against the executive engineer and others. Principal Secretary Energy said that the engineers of the concerned transmission and distribution division have been instructed to remain alert during the proceedings of the House so that uninterrupted power supply remains uninterrupted.
Let us inform that on Monday, due to storm and rain, first Sarojini Nagar line trip happened, then it was run from Chinhat, that too tripped. On the first day of the assembly session, the movement of electricity was heavy on the engineers. However, within minutes the electricity from Gomti Nagar transmission was restored to the Vidhan Bhawan, but in the investigation that lasted till late evening, three engineers were suspended after finding them guilty in the preliminary investigation.
Many power substations of Raj Bhavan section and Hussainganj section are fed by Martinpurwa transmission. The supply of more than half a dozen power substations was completely affected due to the tripping of the lines. At the same time, due to the closure of Martinpurwa, there was a stir among the engineers related to the transmission. Because the session of the Legislative Assembly was going on. Engineers argued that the lines tripped due to strong storm and rain.
On the other hand, the power sub-stations which are fed by Martinpurwa Transmission Line are Race Course, Cooper Road, Raj Bhavan, Jawahar Bhawan, Dalibagh, Hussainganj, Lok Bhavan, Darulshafa, OCR and many other power sub-stations. In these power substations, one feeder assembly from Raj Bhavan power substation. Raj Bhavan power substation was affected due to the closure of Martinpurwa transmission line. At the same time, the engineers claim that the power supply was started from the Gomti Nagar transmission line within minutes after both the sources failed.
On the other hand, Managing Director of Madhyaanchal Anil Dhingra inspected the University, Residency and Metropolitan Division on Monday morning. During the inspection, information was taken from the engineers regarding power supply and works. He directed to solve the problems of the consumers on priority as well as to increase the billing percentage to hundred percent and to maintain the power supply better.
