In Madhya Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath government has taken major action against Deputy Superintendent of Police (CO) Navneet Nayak in Patti Kotwali of Pratapgarh, who is under suspension for sexually assaulting a girl from Chhatarpur district. CM Yogi Adityanath has given a big message to the department by sacking the then jurisdictional Navneet Nayak from service.
Navneet Nayak, a 2014 batch PPS officer, was suspended in October, 2020 while being posted as CO Patti in Pratapgarh. The CO found guilty of moral turpitude in the departmental inquiry has been shown the way out of the police department.
A case of rape was registered against Navneet Nayak, Deputy Superintendent of Police (CO) in Patti Kotwali of Pratapgarh. Navneet Nayak is accused of refusing to marry after having a physical relationship with a girl from Madhya Pradesh. Due to this allegation, the government had suspended Navneet Nayak in the past.
Navneet Nayak was the CO of Patti Circle of Pratapgarh in the year 2019. During that time a woman from Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh) used to come to meet him, Navneet Nayak also used to go to a hotel in Pratapgarh to meet him. In the meantime, both of them had a physical relationship. But later on some matter they got separated.
The woman had accused her of harassing her when she talked about marriage, as well as threatening to implicate her in a false case by the CO. On this the woman complained to the government. The government had got the matter investigated by former SP Anurag Arya. On investigation the allegations were found to be true.
On the complaint of the victim girl, suspension action was taken against the CO and an inquiry was ordered. Then CO Navneet Nayak was posted in Shahjahanpur. In July 2021, a case was also registered in Prayagraj against the accused CO Navneet Nayak on the complaint of the girl.
