New Delhi. Indian middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer batted brilliantly in both the innings of the Day-Night Test match against Sri Lanka in Bangalore. He scored half-centuries in both the innings while playing a good innings for the team. On the basis of this innings, he also made a special record in his name. In this Day-Night Test match, the Indian team scored 252 runs in the first innings, while in the second innings, they declared the innings by scoring 303 runs for 9 wickets.
Shreyas Iyer became the first Indian batsman to score 50 plus in both the innings of a day-night Test for India. In the first innings of the Bangalore Test against Sri Lanka, he scored 92 runs in 98 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 10 fours, while in the second innings, he faced 87 balls and scored 67 runs with the help of 9 fours. At the same time, he became the fifth batsman in the world to play 50 plus innings in both the innings of a day-night Test match.
Shreyas Iyer hit his fifth half-century in the last six innings of three T20Is and two Test matches against Sri Lanka. In this cricket series, he has scored 57*, 74*, 73*, 27, 92, 67 runs in six innings against Sri Lanka. He remained unbeaten in all three matches against Sri Lanka in the three-match T20 series played before the Test series and was also adjudged the Player of the Series.
