Lucknow. The Income Tax Department team on Friday night recovered Rs 1.5 crore from the car of Devendra Pal Singh, a director-level officer of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute. The team stopped him for checking on Kanpur Road. During the search inside the car, one and a half crore rupees were found in a bag. After which the team took Devendra Pal along with the money and went away.
According to police sources, Devendra Pal could not give details of the money recovered from the car. Income Tax Department team is investigating about Rs. In the evening, the Income Tax Department team received information about Rs 1.5 crore in the car of Devendra Pal, a senior officer of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute located on Kanpur Road. A team of Income Tax Department officers reached his institute. Where it was learned that Devendra Pal had left the institute. After this the team of Income Tax Department took help from Sarojininagar Police.
The team along with the police chased down Devendra Pal. He was seen going by car on Kanpur road. He was stopped by the Income Tax Department team officials and searched the car. Money was found kept in a bag in the car. Police Commissioner DK Thakur said that the Income Tax Department team has recovered Rs. The team went away with Rs. and Devendra Pal.
