Aligarh. On the last day of nomination for the assembly elections, the police have pasted the notice of District Badr at the house of Congress candidate Salman Imtiaz from Aligarh city seat. After the ruckus in the city regarding CAA-NRC, a recommendation was made by the police regarding the action of District Badar against Salman. At the same time, an order has been issued from the ADM court to make them district Badar. For six months it will remain outside the limits of the district. Earlier also action has been taken against Salman. Salman, who was busy campaigning after filing his nomination two days back, came to know about the notice in the evening. Six cases of ruckus and threats etc. have been registered against him.
After the uproar in the city over the Citizenship Amendment Act, the police on March 1, 2020, recommended action against former AMU students union president Salman Imtiaz under the Goonda Control Act in District Badar. Presently, Salman is the Congress candidate from Shahar seat. On January 15, the court of ADM City has given directions to the district Badar. Instructions have also been issued to serve the notice.
On Friday, the Civil Line Police has pasted a notice at Salman’s house located near Uparkot Jama Masjid. Civil line station in-charge Pravesh Rana has confirmed pasting the notice. Salman Imtiaz has filed his nomination papers two days back. After filing the form, he also gave a statement about Jinnah in a conversation with the media. He had said that Jinnah is in history and no one can erase history. History can be both good and bad. Due to Salman being in the electoral fray from the city seat, its political implications were also being imposed.
Congress District President Santosh Singh Jadaun told that BJP is afraid of defeat, so it is adopting every trick. First the Civil Lines Inspector threatened the Congress candidate Salman. Now the notice was pasted at his house without any prior notice. Whatever BJP does, even if he sends him to jail, Salman will contest the elections. Action has been taken against them under conspiracy.
There are six cases against Salman: Six cases including damage to public property, CLA Act, Bala, IT Act are registered against Salman. The court of ATM City immediately issued a show cause notice after the report of SSP Muniraj. It was dated 4 September 2020. But, no one was present. During this, it was argued on behalf of the police that Salman is a person of criminal nature. As such, it is in the category of punk. Under this, the district should be made Badar. The court has said in its order that Salman, resident of Manzil Mohalla, has been ordered to go out of the district from the date of service by attaching him to the police station Ganjdudwara of Kasganj after making the district Badar for six months. Do not enter the district limits for six months. Also, register your presence in the police station Ganjdundwara. If it is necessary to come home under any special circumstances, then can come after obtaining the permission of the District Probation Officer. Will have to return after the expiry of the permission period. A copy of this order has also been sent to Kasganj SP. Action has been ordered for violation.
