Lucknow. The Samajwadi Party on Monday released another list for the elections to be held from February 10 for the formation of the 18th Legislative Assembly in Uttar Pradesh. In the list released by the Samajwadi Party, two Rashtriya Lok Dal candidates will contest two seats in Baghpat. This is the fifth list of SP-RLD.
Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal alliance has bet on former MLA from Chhaprauli in Baghpat, Veerpal Rathi and former president of District Bar Association, Jaiveer Singh Tomar from Baraut. In RLD, there was a very long line of people seeking tickets from Chhaprauli. 16 RLD workers wanted to contest the election but Jayant Chaudhary has declared former MLA Veerpal Rathi as the candidate. Veerpal Rathi has been MLA from Chhaprauli in the year 2012. Veerpal Rathi also took charge of the election of District Panchayat President. Maybe that’s why Jayant has declared him the candidate. The rest of the people have suffered a setback due to not getting tickets.
Jaiveer Singh Tomar, former president of the District Bar Association, has been declared the candidate of RLD from Baraut seat. In Baraut seat too, a dozen workers were in line to get tickets, but now except Jaiveer Singh Tomar, everyone else has suffered a setback. Jaiveer Singh Tomar has been the President of Baghpat District Bar Association thrice. Jaiveer Singh Tomar is originally from Bijrol village. His father Kale Singh was the head of Baraut block thrice. It is worth mentioning that Jayant Chaudhary has already declared Ahmed Hameed, son of former cabinet minister Nawab Kokab Hameed, as the candidate from Baghpat assembly seat.
The alliance of Samajwadi and Rashtriya Lok Dal has released five lists so far. In which 38 candidates are named. Of these, 28 names are of Rashtriya Lok Dal candidates. These candidates will enter the fray in the first two phases of polling.
SP changed candidate from Aligarh, now Ajju will contest elections
The Samajwadi Party has changed its candidate for the Kol seat of Aligarh after a lot of tussle. The Samajwadi Party has declared former metropolitan president Ajju Ishaq as a candidate. Earlier, Salman Shahid was declared a candidate for this seat, but he was not given B form. Since then, the speculation of changing the candidate had intensified. The party high command has made Ajju the candidate by cutting his ticket. Ajju has confirmed getting B form. He said that after talking to all the party leaders, the date of nomination will be decided. Ajju has also contested the assembly elections in 2017. Then he was defeated. This is the first time in this election that any party has changed its candidate.
