Lucknow. Even before the start of voting in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party is engaged in a campaign to increase its clan. The Samajwadi Party has given a big blow to the BJP on Monday.
Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav on Monday got his party’s membership to Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Radha Krishna Sharma from Bilsi in Badaun at the party’s state headquarters. Badaun is considered a stronghold of the Samajwadi Party. The Bharatiya Janata Party won Bilsi in Badaun in 2017 for the first time since 1993 and RK Sharma was elected MLA here. Sharma had registered victory even after getting the ticket 21 days before the polling.
RK Sharma was not active in BJP activities in Bilsi for a long time. Considering him inactive, the BJP was preparing separately in Bilsi. Even during the BJP’s Jan Vishwas Yatra in Badaun, when Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya had reached Bilsi, he was not present. Apart from this, when BJP National President JP Nadda held a public meeting at the district headquarters, all the public representatives were present, but RK Sharma did not participate in it. Recently, a video of him from Bareilly had gone viral, in which he was also heard about going to SP. In the 2017 assembly elections, he suddenly joined the BJP and contested from Bilsi. After this, he became an MLA in just 21 days. After winning the election from the BJP, his activity in the area was very less, due to which there was discontent among the regional people. His ticket cut from the BJP was also believed to be fixed, perhaps because he was already trying to start a political innings from somewhere else.
Radha Krishna Sharma got 82,070 votes in Bilsi’s 2017 election, while her rival Musarat Ali Bittan of the BSP got 55,091 votes. Earlier he had been MLA from BSP from Amla. Now it is believed that Samajwadi Party can once again field him from Amla seat.
Along with BJP MLA Radha Krishna Sharma from Bilsi, Shashank Tripathi, BJP leader from Prayagraj, has also left his party and took a ride on the Samajwadi Party’s cycle.
