Chennai. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Saturday rubbished all speculations about his participation in the upcoming IPL season and said that he has not yet decided to play for his franchise. He expressed the hope that he will play his last T20 match in Chennai itself.
Dhoni said that he is in no hurry to take a decision as there is enough time for the upcoming season. Dhoni said at an event in Chennai, ‘I will think about it, there is a lot of time in it, now November is going on, IPL 2022 will be played in April’. Earlier, after winning IPL 2021, CSK skipper Dhoni had remained silent when asked about his participation in next year’s edition of the tournament. Dhoni had announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15 last year.
When asked about his participation in next year’s IPL, he said, “When it comes to farewell you can come and see me play for CSK and that could be my farewell match.” Hopefully my last T20 match will be in Chennai itself. Whether it will happen next year or in the next five years, we don’t know about it. After winning the IPL title, he had said that his playing depends on the BCCI, because with the arrival of two new teams, we have to decide what is good for CSK. Let us tell you that after the poor performance of CSK in the year 2020, Dhoni made a comeback in this season and gave the team the IPL title for the fourth time.
