New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the program organized on the 28th Foundation Day of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today. Amit Shah also attended the event. In his address, Prime Minister Modi targeted the opponents without naming anyone. Also said that in the name of human rights some people are trying to malign the image of the country. Apart from this, the PM spoke on all issues including triple talaq, women’s safety, help of migrants during the Corona period.
PM Modi congratulates on the 28th establishment of Human Rights Commission
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address, first of all heartily congratulated everyone on the 28th Foundation Day of the National Human Rights Commission. Also said that this event is being held today at a time when our country is celebrating the nectar festival of its independence.
We fought for our rights for centuries: PM Modi
The Prime Minister said that our movement for freedom, our history, is a great source of inspiration for human rights for India. We fought for our rights for centuries. As a nation, as a society, have resisted injustice and atrocities.
The country is running with everyone’s support, everyone’s development, everyone’s faith and everyone’s effort.
With this, Prime Minister Modi said that today the country is running on the basic mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’. In a way, this is the basic spirit of ensuring human rights.
Attempts to remove injustice at various levels in the last twenty years
Along with this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in the past years, the country has tried to remove the injustice being done at different levels in different sections. For decades Muslim women had been demanding a law against triple talaq. We have given new rights to Muslim women by enacting a law against triple talaq.
For women Maternity leave
The Prime Minister said that today many sectors of work have been opened for women, it is being ensured that they can work round the clock with security. Big countries of the world are unable to do this, but today India is giving 26 weeks of paid maternity leave to career women.
Many steps have been taken related to the safety of daughters
The Prime Minister said that many legal steps related to the protection of daughters have been taken over the years. One Stop Centers are running in more than 700 districts of the country. Where women are given medical aid, police protection, legal aid and temporary shelter at one place.
Experienced the Power of the Disabled at the Paralympics
Along with this, PM Modi said that what is the power of our disabled brothers and sisters, we have experienced it again in the recent Paralympics. In the last years, laws have also been made to empower the differently-abled, they have been linked with new facilities.
People interpreting human rights in their own way: PM Modi
Along with this, PM Modi said that in recent years some people have started interpreting human rights in their own way, looking at their own interests. In the same type of incident, some people see the violation of human rights and in another similar incident, the same people do not see the violation of human rights. Such selective behavior is equally harmful to democracy. The PM said that human rights are greatly violated when they are seen with a political color.
Poor got toilet and bank facility
Along with this, the Prime Minister said that the poor who was once forced to go in the open for defecation, that poor has now got a toilet. Also said that the poor who could never muster the courage to go inside the bank, the Jan Dhan account of that poor was opened, which gives him courage, his reputation increases.
Financial assistance provided during the Corona period
Apart from this, the Prime Minister said that during this Corona period, India has given financial assistance to the poor, helpless and elderly people directly in their accounts. One Nation One Ration Card facility has also been started for migrant workers, so that they do not have to wander for ration wherever they go in the country.

Amit Shah also attended the event. In his address, he said that the National Human Rights Commission has disposed of more than 20 lakh cases in 28 years and has given compensation of more than 205 crores, to those who were wronged.
Along with this said that in the last 6 years, about 60 crore poor population has been taken care of. Also, toilets have been provided to 10 crore women. Not only this, Amit Shah said that electricity has been provided to about 4 crore houses.
The Commission was established on 12 October 1993 under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993 with the objective of protecting and promoting human rights. The NHRC takes cognizance of human rights violations, investigates and recommends compensation to be paid to the victims by public authorities.
