IPL: Chennai Super Kings team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has made it clear that he will be seen donning the yellow jersey for at least one more season and fans will be able to watch him play a farewell match at the beloved Chepauk ground. Dhoni’s retirement was being discussed for some time, but for the first time on Tuesday, he clearly indicated that he will play in the upcoming season as there will be a big change in the team in the next IPL auction.
Dhoni said, ‘As far as retirement is concerned, you can also come and see me play for CSK and this may be my last match. You will get an opportunity to bid me farewell now. Hopefully we will play in Chennai and can meet the fans there.
If sources are to be believed, CSK will retain three players – captain Dhoni, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and opener Ruturaj Gaikwad – for the next auction. Dhoni said that he is not in the mood to move to Bollywood after retirement. He said, ‘You know Bollywood is really not easy. I am happy with the advertisement. When it comes to films, I think it is a very tough profession and very difficult to do.
Let us tell you that CSK made a tremendous comeback this season under Dhoni’s captaincy and became the first team to reach the playoffs. Under his captaincy, CSK’s team has played 13 matches so far this season in which this team has won 9 matches while losing 4 matches. The way Dhoni’s team is playing, it seems that they can win the title too.
