The Yogi government has issued orders to close all educational institutions, including all schools and colleges across the state, for two days, Friday and Saturday, due to the continuous heavy rains in Uttar Pradesh for the last twenty four hours. Now three days later, on Monday 20 September, schools and colleges will open. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all the Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates to conduct relief work with full readiness in view of the heavy rains in many areas of the state. He has said that senior officers should visit the area and keep an eye on the relief work. He has also appealed to the people to take precautions during this disaster.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the officers that in view of this disaster, relief work should be done effectively in all the affected districts. Immediate relief should be provided to the people affected by the disaster. In the event of water logging, arrangements for drainage should be made on priority. He has directed the officials of the respective districts to assess the damage caused by this disaster. He has directed to keep all educational institutions including all schools and colleges in the state closed on 17th and 18th September, 2021.
Quickly get relief work in rain-affected areas: During the last 24 hours, due to heavy rains in many districts of the state, there has been tremendous waterlogging in many areas. Many people have also died due to excessive rain, thunderstorms, drowning and snakebites. In view of the heavy rains in many areas of the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all the divisional commissioners and district magistrates to conduct relief work with full readiness. Expressing condolences to the bereaved relatives of those who lost their lives due to the disaster, he has asked the officials to provide immediate financial assistance to the dependents of the deceased.
Make arrangements for immediate drainage in the flooded areas: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that senior officers should visit the area and keep an eye on relief work. He has also appealed to the people to exercise caution. He has said that in view of this disaster, relief work should be done in the districts in an effective manner. Immediate relief should be provided to the people affected by the disaster. He has directed to ensure drainage system in waterlogged areas on priority. He has asked the officials of the rain-hit districts to assess the damage caused by this calamity.
Average rainfall in the state is 33.1 mm in 24 hours: Relief Commissioner Ranvir Prasad said that in the last 24 hours, the average rainfall in Uttar Pradesh has been 33.1 mm, which is 435.5 percent against the normal rainfall of 7.6 mm. Thus, the average rainfall in the state from June 1 till now is 665.3 mm, which is 90 percent against the normal rainfall of 739.7 mm.
