CM Yogi Adityanath left Lucknow on Friday and visited the flood affected areas of Bahraich, Gonda and Balrampur and distributed relief material to the people. On Saturday, he visited Siddharthnagar and Maharajganj as well as the flooded areas of Gorakhpur. During this he met the people, distributed relief material to them and also assured them from the government’s side.
No one affected by flood will sleep hungry and no one will be homeless.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the government and administration are engaged in rescue and relief work on a war footing with full sensitivity in the areas affected by the floods. 2.26 lakh population of 304 villages affected by floods
CM Yogi Adityanath is on an intensive tour of the flood-affected areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh since Friday. Reaching out to the flood victims and sharing their sorrow and pain, provided relief material to them. With the assurance of the government being with him at all times, he directed the officers that no one should face any problem. After taking stock of the flood affected areas of Siddharthnagar and Maharajganj and meeting the people, he reached Gorakhpur on Saturday. Here he met flood affected people in Jhangha, Khajni, Sahjanwa and Laldiggi and distributed relief material. Addressing the media during the distribution of relief material, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that about 15 districts of Purvanchal are affected by floods due to heavy rains in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Nepal. In Gorakhpur, 2.26 lakh population of about 304 villages has been affected by the floods. 405 boats and 50 steamers have been deployed here. Efforts are being made to control the flood through flood posts and control rooms. He said Rapti was flowing two-and-a-half to three meters above the danger mark. Never in the last 50 years has there been such a dangerous situation of rising water level in rivers. He said that we have also seen the situation in 1991 and 1998.
All efforts to prevent loss of public and money
CM Yogi Adityanath said that every effort was made to prevent loss of life and money by effective arrangements made in time for rescue. It also got success. In view of the possibility of flood, the flood units of NDRF, SDRF and PAC were already activated. Adequate arrangements for relief material are in place with the arrangement of adequate number of boats. He said that it is the intention of Prime Minister Narendra that no one should feel helpless and the state government is working in this direction. We are battling the corona pandemic for the last one and a half years and now with the floods too, but we will soon get the flood situation under control by facing this crisis with patience.
Food distribution in sufficient quantity
CM Yogi Adityanath said that adequate quantity of food grains are being distributed for the flood victims. In each ration kit, apart from 10-10 kg of rice and potatoes, two kg of tur dal, refined oil, salt, turmeric, chilli, spice packets, lye, gram, jaggery, candle, match, etc., along with umbrella and rain were also given. is going. The Chief Minister said that relief material would be delivered to all the victims within three days.
Arrangement of food from community kitchen
The Chief Minister said that community kitchens are being arranged for the food of those families where flood or rain water has entered. The government is committed that not a single citizen should go hungry. Food packets are being provided to the people surrounded by water at their doorstep.
Arrangement of straw and fodder for animals
The Chief Minister said that the government also takes care of the animals of the flood victims. The administration has also been directed to ensure that there is no crisis of straw and fodder for the animals in the affected areas. We have to save humans as well as their animals.
Ensure availability of ARVs and ASVs, distribute ORS packets as well
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the incidents of bites of snakes and other poisonous animals and dogs increase during floods. In such a situation, the administration and the health department have been directed that anti-rabies vaccine and anti-snake venom should be available in sufficient quantity in the flood-affected areas. Keeping in view the possibility of diseases like cholera, diarrhea due to water logging everywhere, instructions have been given to distribute ORS packets in such areas so that people can be saved from dehydration due to these diseases. Along with this, the Health Department has been asked to distribute chlorine tablets to keep the drinking water pure.
Financial assistance on animal loss as well as death due to disaster
The Chief Minister said that someone’s death is very sad. Nevertheless, the administration has been instructed to provide immediate financial assistance of Rs. This help will also be given on death in the attack of snake or other violent-venomous animal. On the death of a farmer or sharecropper due to flood, the administration has been directed to immediately cover him with insurance of five lakh rupees under the Chief Minister Krishak Accident Insurance Scheme. Similarly, if a person’s pet animal (cow, buffalo, goat, chicken etc.) dies due to flood, then financial assistance will be given for that also from the government side.
Patta of land will be given to the victims, CM residence will also be given
The Chief Minister said that for those whose houses have been damaged due to the floods, the government would also give a permissible amount up to Rs.95 thousand. If someone’s house has merged with the river due to erosion, then the government will not only give him a lease of land for housing, but housing will also be arranged for him through CM Awas Yojana. Till such time there is no arrangement of accommodation, such people will be given a place in shelters run by the government. The CM said that under no circumstances will anyone be allowed to remain homeless.
Survey for crop compensation from now
CM Yogi Adityanath also assured compensation for the damaged crops of the flood victims. He said that compensation would be given to the farmers whose crops were submerged in the flood waters. For this the survey has already been started. Such a system has been made that all the affected farmers get crop compensation on time.
Special campaign of cleanliness, sanitization and fogging from tomorrow
The Chief Minister said that due to water logging, the risk of diseases like Encephalitis, Dengue, Malaria increases. To prevent this, a week-long special campaign of special cleanliness, sanitization and fogging is being started in every area from September 5 to September 12. Officers are also being sent from Lucknow to the areas for its monitoring. The Chief Minister appealed to everyone to participate in this campaign.
