Lucknow. After buying 93 percent land for the construction of Ganga Expressway, the State Government has stepped up to the country’s second largest expressway project to take over the land. 594 kilometers long Ganga Expressway will be developed on Public Private Partnership-Toll (DBFOT / Development, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer) model to Meerut. The government has allowed the estimated cost of 36,230 crore to start the bidding process. The project has been decided to develop in four groups. There will be three packages (parts) in each group.
In the Cabinet meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday, stamped on the tender documents (RFP / Request Far Proposal and RFQ / Request Far Qualification) for each group for the selection of expressway in four groups. After the Cabinet meeting, this decision was given by MSME Minister and State Government spokesman Siddharthanath Singh. He said that for the four groups of the project, their relative concessioners (developers) will be released by issuing different RFQ-low-RFPs. For this, 30 years of consultation agreement will be done. The bidding process will be completed in 60 days.
This will be the features: Cabinet has also approved the technical and other structures of the Ganga Expressway project. This expressway will be six-lane wide, which can be transformed into eight lanes. This will build structures in eight lane width. The Wright of the Expressway is proposed 130 meters of width. On one side of the expressway, 3.75 meter wide service road will be made, so that the residents of the surrounding villages can get facilitated traffic. Shahjahanpur will also be made near Shahjahanpur on the expressway to landing and flying planes. Vehicles will be able to run at 120 km per hour on the expressway. Nine public relevance campus will be developed at different places. There will be one main toll plaza in Meerut and Prayagraj, while the number of ramp toll plaza will be 15. On the expressway, there will be 960 meters on the river and 720 meters long on Ramganga river.
12 districts: Ganga Expressway will pass from the 12 districts of the state, including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badayun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. It will start from Bijauli village at Meerut-Bulandshahr Marg (NH-334) in Meerut and will end near Judapur Dandu village at NH-19 (bypass) in Prayagraj.
36,230 crore is cost: Total estimated cost of the project is Rs 36,230 crore. It is about Rs 22,125 crore estimated in civil work and construction. 9255 crores will be needed to buy the ground required for the project.
Benefits: For the 12 districts related to the project, the facility of accelerated traffic facility will be available through the capital of the state and through Purvanchal Expressway, Agra-Lucknow Expressway and the country’s capital through Yamuna Expressway. Expressway will also be helpful in pollution control with fuel saving of vehicles. With the social and economic development of the areas around the expressway, agriculture, commerce, tourism and industries will be encouraged. This expressway will be helpful in the areas of industrial Corridor to connect various productive units and agricultural production areas to the state and national capital. The handloom industry will be helpful in the form of catalyst for the establishment of industry, food processing units, cold storage, storage house, mandis and milk based industries etc. It will also be available opportunities for establishment of Industrial Traning Institute, Education and Medical Institute. Project will get direct and indirect employment to 20 thousand people from the establishment of the project and the education institutions, the establishment of agricultural based industries.
