Kanpur. Known as the Manchester of the East, Kanpur is not spared from accidents and accidents. Even in the havoc of Corona virus, accidents continue in the industrial area here. A fire broke out in a plastic factory in Raipur late on Thursday night due to a short circuit.
The fire got worse due to cylinder explosion in the factory. Six fire tenders from the district and two from the city are engaged in extinguishing the fire. The fire was brought under control around 11 am. At the primary level, the possibility of loss of crores has been expressed due to the fire.
Due to this the fire broke out: Ganesh Ecosphere Pvt. Ltd. The fire broke out in the factory at 3:30 pm on Thursday due to a short circuit. The fire took a formidable form due to the explosion of oxygen cylinders inside the factory. To control the fire, three vehicles from Mati Fire Station, one each from Rasulabad, Maitha, Sikandra have been sent to the spot, but even after this, two vehicles had to be called from Kanpur after seeing the fire not being controlled.
Two plants were completely destroyed: The fire could be brought under control after about eight hours due to the hard work of firefighters, but by then two plants of the factory were completely destroyed. With this, the walls and beams burst and fell down. Local people told that in the factory, plastic bottles were melted and made into thread. In the preliminary level investigation, the loss due to the fire has been estimated at crores of rupees.
Reality is being assessed: Chief Fire Officer Surendra Singh said that the fire spread rapidly due to being a plastic factory. For control, eight vehicles from the city and the countryside were engaged in extinguishing the fire. At the same time, getting water inside the factory was also a great relief. He said that the actual situation can be assessed only after investigation.
