Both Tiger Reserves, all six National Parks, seven sanctuaries, four Conservation Reserves and both zoos in Uttarakhand have been closed to tourists till May 15 in view of the possibility of corona infection among wildlife. The decision was taken in a meeting with the chief wildlife guardians of all the states on Saturday through video conferencing of officials of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) and the Central Zoo Authority (CZA).
It was decided to close all protected areas in the state from May 3. After reports of tiger lions in the country being exposed to Korana infection, NTCA and CZA issued advisory to all states and union territories on daily basis. , Was instructed to stop tourism activities in the zoo. Meanwhile, on Saturday, the NTCA and CZA officials reviewed the situation in all states.
According to JS Suhag, Chief Wildlife Advocate of the state who attended the meeting, all the states have stopped tourism activities in their protected areas. He said that in this order, orders have been issued in Uttarakhand also to prohibit the permission of filming, research etc. along with tourism activities in protected areas till May 15. He said that the situation will be reviewed on May 15 and further decision will be taken.
Special instructions for zoo and rescue center
According to Chief Wildlife Advocate Suhag, special instructions have been issued for the Rescue Centers of Chidipur and Ranibagh in addition to the zoos at Dehradun and Nainital. There, RTPCR’s negative report of corona investigation has been made mandatory for all personnel as well as doctors. It has also been instructed to maintain a distance of two meters from the wildlife. Also, meat given to wildlife will be boiled at 65 degrees first.
All personnel will be vaccinated
According to Suhag, along with Corbett and Rajaji Tiger Reserve, the government has been requested to get the first vaccination of employees of all protected areas as Corona Warriors. A theoretical consensus has also been formed on this. He told that anyway 76 percent of the personnel of Corbett and Rajaji Tiger Reserve have already been vaccinated. He said that the drivers and guides providing services in the protected areas will also be vaccinated.
