Dehradun. Weather patterns have changed in Uttarakhand. The higher peaks received snowfall, while the lower ellas received rains with strong thunderstorms. Today, there was rain and hail in the mountainous districts, while the plains were showered with strong winds. The Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert.
Uttarakhand witnessed some changes in weather patterns on Monday after the weather remained dry for the past several days. Since Tuesday morning, cloud cover was prevailing in most areas of the state. However, light sunshine blossomed later in the afternoon. Due to which the expectation of rain came as a shock.
There was a possibility of rain in the state till late night. There is a hope of rain in view of the large blazing forests in the state. According to the Meteorological Center, rain and hailstorm may occur in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Nainital, Almora and Pithoragarh today. However, snowfall is likely in areas with an altitude of more than 3200 meters. Also, in the plains, gusting winds can run at a speed of 50 km per hour.
