Raipur : There are reports of an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Naxal-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. It is being told that on Saturday afternoon, a tremendous encounter took place between the soldiers and the Naxalites. The encounter still continues. Five soldiers were killed in the encounter, while some were reported injured. Some Naxalites are also reported to have been killed. The soldiers to be martyred include 3 of DRG and 2 of CRPF. However, the injured have not been officially confirmed yet.
Naxalites opened fire on security forces: Director General of Police DM Awasthi
State Director General of Police DM Awasthi said that five security personnel have been killed in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Tarrem area of Bijapur district. While some are also reported injured. Awasthi said that CRPF’s Cobra Battalion, DRG and STF personnel were dispatched in anti-Naxal operations in Tarrem area. While the party was in the area, the Naxalites opened fire on the security forces.

An emergency meeting of DGP DM Awasthi, Special Director General (Anti-Naxal Operations) Ashok Juneja and other officials is going on in Raipur on the encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Bijapur.
5 young martyrs, one naxalite also killed
While giving the information, the CRPF said, “Initial reports in an encounter in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh show that three District Reserve Guard (DRG) and two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers have been martyred, one also killed a Naxalite. Has gone.”
Earlier, on March 23, a bus carrying security personnel in Narayanpur district was blown up by the Maoists from the IED. 5 security personnel were killed in that attack.
