New Delhi. At present, limited overs cricket is being played between South Africa and Pakistan. Due to this many players are with the South African team, but they will be in the limited overs series against Pakistan as soon as the IPL starts. For this, the head coach of the South African team, Mark Boucher, has made a big claim.
Mark Boucher believes that playing the IPL will help him prepare for the T20 World Cup to be held in India later this year, and also get a chance to try out his second-tier players. South Africa’s top five players Quinton Dickock, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Nagidi, David Miller and Enrique Notreje will be available for only two ODIs against Pakistan.
One of these ODIs has been played on 2 April. After this, all these players will reach India for the IPL starting April 9. Boucher said, “These players have advantages and disadvantages of not playing in series matches, but we already knew this, because the BCCI and CSA (Cricket South Africa) have an agreement to leave players for IPL. And the program could not be designed favorably due to Kovid-19. ”
He added, “I think that participation in IPL will give us an advantage in the World Cup. It will give them an opportunity to play in different venues and understand the opposing teams. They are not going to holiday there and it will give us other Players will also get a chance to try it out. ” The South African coach says that if the top players are not on national duty then the players sitting on the bench will be given a chance to improve their game and be able to cope with a strong team.
