Almora: Days like the lockdown at the border of the district have returned as the second wave of Corona infection intensifies. About 66 people who arrived in 16 vehicles from Sarsapate were returned from outside states without conducting a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RTPCR) test. Most of them were tourists from cities like Noida, Ghaziabad, Haryana, Faridabad, Hapur, Gurugram etc. along with Delhi and Bareilly. At the same time, 13 others from other states were instructed to stay on home isolation after thermal screening and RTPCR test.
On the direction of DM Nitin Singh Bhadauria, the Lodhia barrier has started to tighten due to the Corona infection gaining momentum again. Without RTPCR test, entry of people from outside states and cities has been banned. On Friday, the police team along with the health department on the barrier remained alert. As many as 66 people from various states who had visited the tourist places like Jageshwardham, Kausani, Almora, Bagnath etc. were returned. These people reached Uttarakhand without conducting RTPCR test. Here, in the presence of the police, the Health Department team examined the corona report of the passengers stopping 80 vehicles till evening. Those who did not have an RTPCR test report were returned.
Election Commission Supervisor Corona infected in Almora
The community spread of corona infection in the mountain has started to scare again. Here, Corona, the expenditure supervisor of the Election Commission of India who arrived from Pune for the by-election, was found infected. He has been isolated at Sushila Tiwari Government Hospital, Haldwani. However, the report of four other officials who were in contact with the expenditure supervisor has come up negative. 11 other people have also been found infected in the district.
