Dehradun. In Uttarakhand, about 120 nominees and dignitaries have been discharged during the nearly four-year tenure of the previous Trivendra Singh Rawat government of the BJP. Chief Secretary Om Prakash issued orders in this regard on Friday. Only the dignitaries appointed to the constitutional posts for a fixed period will be employed. Tirath Singh Rawat government has also shown the way out of the government to the dignitaries and liabilities appointed in the previous government.
With the swearing in of Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat’s Council of Ministers on March 12, it was decided that the liabilities appointed from March 18, 2017 to March 10, during the tenure of the previous Trivandra Government, would have to be removed. The previous government had nominated non-government dignitaries to various commissions, corporations councils as chairperson, vice-chairman, advisor and other posts. Of these, around 80 dignitaries were given the status of minister, minister of state or other dignitaries. Apart from this, around 40 such accountants were also appointed, who were not given any kind of status.
Tirath Singh Rawat government released all the above dignitaries with immediate effect after about 20 days. In this regard, the order issued by Chief Secretary Om Prakash stated that the dignitaries appointed for the prescribed period on constitutional posts were not removed. All the remaining dignitaries will not remain in their posts. This move of the government has created panic in the ruling BJP. Former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had given responsibilities to many BJP leaders just before the commencement of the assembly session in Garsain in March. It is believed that Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat will appoint the new incumbents. In such a situation, the return of some old faces is also possible.
