New Delhi. On Thursday, the ICC Cricket Committee met. Many decisions were taken in this meeting, one of which was also how many players can be selected in a tournament like T20 World Cup. The ICC has made it clear that as many as 23 players can now be traveled with one team, as some things are not possible due to the corona virus epidemic.
Till now the highest body of cricket for ICC tournaments allowed only 15 players to be kept together. In addition, around 30 people, including support staff, were allowed to accompany, but in the wake of the corona virus epidemic, some changes have been made to the rules, which are also in the interests of the teams. The ICC has now allowed 23 players to be selected for the big tournaments, of which the playing eleven can also be selected.
In fact, given the helplessness of the corona virus pandemic, the ICC has decided to do so, because if a player gets injured, his replacement will not be available now, because the replacement was available in a single day, because there was no problem of corona. . Now the player must complete the mandatory quarantine to enter the bio-bubble. After this the player can get a place in the team.
However, in view of this compulsion, the ICC has said that now 23 players can travel with the team, but it has not been clarified whether any 15 of the 23 players will get entry into the playing eleven and the remaining players will be in reserve. But all the players will be part of the bench strength and they can also be seen as fielding apart from playing XI. This has also been done because the player can be isolated after symptoms of the corona virus are detected.
