Thirty bookings were canceled in Mussoorie, while in Nainital it has decreased by 15 to 20 percent. Apart from this, now calls for inquiry have also reduced. Tourism businessmen are worried about this change.
Incidents of corona infection have also increased in Uttarakhand, including Maharashtra, Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh. In view of the situation, the state government has made the negative report of RTPCR test mandatory for those coming to Uttarakhand from the affected states. Uttarakhand Hotel Association President Sandeep Sahni said that this time the hotels in Mussoorie had received good bookings for the weekend, but tourists have started canceling bookings following the government’s new guidelines. He said that along with this, inquiries for new bookings have also come down.
Mussoorie Hotel Association General Secretary Sanjay Aggarwal said that the Chardham Yatra is about to begin and the summer tourism season has also started, but it is a matter of concern that like last year this season also does not go in vain. Anil Sharma, vice president of Hotel JP Residency, Mussoorie, said that the new booking has come down after the government’s guidelines came in.
Harun Khan Panmi, the director of the travel agency in Nainital, says that the booking of buses already falling in tourist buses is now halved due to compulsory testing of tourists coming from 12 states. The government should also understand the difficulty of tourism businessmen.
Gypsy operators also worried in Corbett National Park
The impact of the second wave of Corona infection is visible not only in Mussoorie and Nainital, but all tourist places. Gypsy operators are upset with the decrease in tourist arrivals in Jim Corbett National Park. Gypsy drivers have demanded the Park Director not to be overly strict in the rules. In view of the loss of tourism from Corona in Ramnagar, gypsy operators have urged Corbett Tiger Reserve Director Rahul not to ask for a report of the tourists at the park’s gate. The Park Director also assured him for this. Apart from this, about 100 bookings have also been canceled in hotels in Kausani, a famous tourist place in Almora district.
