Vikrant Veer Singh, who was reinstated after facing a suspension of nearly five months in the Hathras incident, which brought Uttar Pradesh into the limelight, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Varanasi Police Commissionerate. Vikrant Vir Singh, a 2014 batch IPS officer, was posted as SP in Hathras. With this, seven IPS officers have been transferred on Saturday.
After Lucknow and Gautam Buddha Nagar, police commissioner system has been implemented in Varanasi and Kanpur in the state. After the posting of the Commissioner of Police and Joint Commissioner in both the metros, now the Deputy Commissioner of Police is being posted.
